How do I Recover? for People who Use Pain as their Movement Coach

This workshop is for you if you:

  1. Live with pain or the impact of an injury in the past 12 months.
  2. Have re-injured yourself since that injury.
  3. Are of an age that bouncing back from your injury is not happening the way it used to.
  4. Have finished working with your physiotherapist but don’t feel fully recovered.
  5. Want to learn how to make-over your movement so recovery is about more than simply avoiding pain.

This workship is not for you if you are:

  1.  Are in the process of healing from fractures or waiting for surgery as part of your recovery.
  2. Are determined to push through your pain to get back to normal.
  3.  Looking for a magic pill to dissolve your pain, heal you and get you back to normal without learning anything about your movement.  I may know a guy, Jack, who has these magic beans…..I could maybe hook you up!

The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

This workshop will look at strategies to make-over your movement so you can learn more effective ways to move towards wellness following your injury.

You will learn to:

 Identify your functional habits to perform;

Embed self-care in your movement (not only in the recovery period after you have stopped);

Effective ways to listen to your body;

Choose to move in a way that informs you  (rather than moving to perform in a way that wears you out).

This 4 hour online workshop will include:

  1. Movement Makeover Tips to take into your daily movement
  2. Focused movement sessions you can use to practice applying your learning
  3. Rest breaks each hour
  4. Permission to learn at your pace

When you register, you will be asked a few questions so I can make the workshop relevant and supportive to your needs.  You will receive a Zoom link, reminder messages and a set of instructions for how to prepare your learning space for the workshop.  You are welcome to contact me prior to the workshop with any questions or concerns.
